Top Ten Art Exhibitions 2011 – aka, top ten shows I clearly should have seen but didn’t, and if you didn’t either, just let me tell you, I hear you really missed out.  With a couple of exceptions, these are U.S. exhibitions.  I’ve included a few exhibits in other countries that sound great, but wouldn’t presume to say I’ve picked the top ten worldwide.

1.  Haim Steinbach - Tanya Bonakdar Gallery

 Haim Steinbach
2. “Cyprien Gaillard:  The Recovery of Discovery“ - KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin

The Recovery of Discovery by Cyprien Gaillard
3. “The Clock” by Christian Marclay - Paula Cooper Gallery
Since this is a film, it is worth keeping an eye out to see if anyone is doing a showing.
4. Pacific Standard Time - Various locations around Los Angeles
We haven’t actually missed this one.  I’m not getting out to Los Angeles any time soon, but if you are, the show doesn’t close until April 2012. Fabulous 1936 Airstream Clipper
5. Taking Place - Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam
